Our Finest Hour Church is a Holy Spirit led church based just off of the highway in Broken Arrow, OK. Holy Spirit Aware
What does it mean to be “Holy Spirit aware”? Something that Pastor Jerry Zirkle used to always say is that every morning you ought to wake up, put your hands on your belly and say, “You’re welcome in this place Holy Spirit.”
We do this not so the neighbors will look at us weird but because it reminds us that we are temple of the Holy Spirit. What you do and the way you live your life matters. The Holy Spirit is alive on the inside of you and you’re taking him into all those situations that you go into.
When you’re “alone” in the car, at the house or on the job, the Holy Spirit is still there with you. This same Holy Spirit that is all those places is right here in the middle of Our Finest Hour Church ministry times in services and online.
We are aware of the Holy Spirit in worship times and ministry times because we are aware of Him all the time.
Songs picked because of the Word of God in them
The next thing that we do to achieve “spirit led” worship and church is to pick songs that have the Word of God in them – not just our emotions. The Word of God is the anointing and the POWER of God. That means when we pick songs that speak what the Word of God says, we are inviting the Holy Spirit into our services from the very beginning.
This builds a charged atmosphere in which Pastor Dan (as he yields to the spirit) can preach the express rhema word of God that YOU and I need to feed our hearts. This is how the preaching speaks expressly to those in the congregation as they make a demand on the Holy Spirit.
Time for Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs
One final way that we usher in the presence and Spirit of God in our services is through times of Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual songs. These are different from your normal singing times. This time is for you as a member of the congregation to sing a song directly to God out of your heart.
All of this worship times gives us a direct line to the throne room of heaven as our praises are a sweet smelling offering unto God.
