Here at Our Finest Hour Church our mission is to see you come, hear and do the Word of God for yourself. God has called each and every one of us to be doers of the Word of God and not just hearers only. In fact, the Bible tells us that if we just hear the Word we can even deceive ourselves. In this post, we want to outline the mission statement of Our Finest Hour Church. Why should you come to this church? What’s so special about us? Come
Let’s take a look at the first part of our mission statement.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
This scripture is just one of the many that reinforce the fact that you have to actually COME to church. Church “happens” in relationships, not in isolation. You cannot have a true Biblical church by yourself because you’re made to fellowship with others.
The Word commands us to come together and fellowship as believers. We are commanded to “stir up one another in love…”.
This cannot happen without physically communicating with others.
We offer an online church for those who need it, but the primary goal of the church is not just to hear the preaching, but to stir each other up in love. It’s to show others that you love them. It’s the times when you physically come and rub elbows with each other that you have an opportunity to grow in your operation of the fruit of the spirit.
Love, joy, peace, PATIENCE…
You don’t need patience if you’re by yourself.
Our Finest Hour Church was built for people just like you so that you can COME and fellowship with others.
Hear
Hearing the word of God is another important part of the mission of Our Finest Hour Church. We are supposed to hear the Word of God. Without hearing, faith cannot grow because faith comes by hearing! More importantly Hebrews 11:6 tells us that we need faith the please God.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Faith grows as you hear the Word of God preached.
Without faith it’s impossible to walk through this life pleasing to God. Growth starts by knowing what the Word of God says you’re supposed to do.
Which really means that without taking the time to come to church and listen with ears that hear the word of God, you won’t ever grow in your faith and be pleasing unto God in your relationship with Him.
God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Pastor Dan Zirkle preaches the unfiltered Word of God here at Our Finest Hour Church making it an amazing opportunity to HEAR with ears that hear.
Do
Ministry happens when we serve each other in love. That means it happens when we do something. The church isn’t a consumer economy. Jesus didn’t come to be served. He came to serve! The same is true for us today.
Each one of us are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We are his BODY. Which means that we are supposed to DO something.
Take the things you hear in services and apply them by connecting to the Ministry of Helps and doing something with the Word of God you hear.
For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
The good degree and great boldness is a measure of the anointing that operates within the leadership being bestowed upon you as you submit unto God and the leadership that the Lord has placed over you.
Everyone has leaders or someone to report to.

- Come physically enter the building of this church and fellowship with believers who are like you.
- Hear the Word of God preached with ears to hear and grow in your faith.
- Do something with the faith you have received and exercise it in a way that is profitable for others around you. (In other words serve others)
